The building in which Laura (Carmi) resides and that Totò often visits being of her secretly in love (thanks to Panza for the description) is in fact what once passed under the name of "Three palaces"part of that Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II ended up under bombs and today almost entirely rebuilt (even the statue in the center has been moved elsewhere). We are in Piazza del Municipio in Livorno, which today is one of the two squares that once made up Piazza Vittorio Emanuele.
