A Life of Violence: Beating

The square where the gang of thugs, of which Tommaso (Citti) is part, injures a couple who loves by car,  is Piazza Pakistan in Rome, right at the foot of the famous tower, which actually is a water tower, of the EUR district.

Plot:

From the novel  by Pier Paolo Pasolini, the portrait of Tommaso, a young man from the suburbs, that leads a striking life. One day he meets Irene and falls in love with her. To impress her, he organizes a serenade with his friends. A fight ensues during which he wounds a man with a knife. Arrested, he serves several months in prison. On leaving prison, he falls ill with consumption and is admitted to a sanatorium, where he meets a communist union agitator, who for the first time treats him like a man.
