The ruins near which Daniela is attacked (Danielle Dugas) are located in the Natural Monument of Galeria Antica, while the ghost town near the ruins is Santa Maria di Galeria, in The Ager Romanus, then reused in other scenes of the film.

Plot:
Claudio is a photographer who is now uncomfortable with the reality he has captured and perhaps deformed (the scenes of Vietnam and other dramas of the recent past). Everything reappears in front of him, as in an anguished dream after a bad digestion, and the whole world of images mixes with that of people with whom he has had professional or sentimental ties: Silvia, a girl brutally raped; Daniela, the model who believes she will find herself again by subjecting herself to brutalizing practices; Leda, a provincial woman sinking in the mud of the city; a Black man who, more than the three women, ends up being an object in the photographer's hands. Claudio is left with nothing but suicide or death at the hands of one of his victims.
