The Bankers of God: The Calvi affair
The Vatican gardens where, during a working lunch, a team of cardinals proposed to John Paul II to remove Calvi (Antonutti) from the Banco Ambrosiano are actually the courtyard in front of the Palazzina di caccia Stupinigi, in Turin. The interiors of the "sacred rooms" were shot partly in the same building and partly at the Reggia di Venaria Reale, Turin.

Plot:
The film tells the story of the scandal of Banco Ambrosiano that involved many different realities, from the financial world of Milan to the Vatican, up to mafia and camorra and international secret services; it culminated with the death of Roberto Calvi, whose body was found hanging under the Bridge of the Black Friars in London.
