Lo smemorato di Collegno: The asylum

The mental hospital where the forgetful man (Totò) is locked up is neither in Turin nor in the Santa Maria della Pietà mental hospital in Rome as we hear around but the Pius XII pavilion of Casa San Giuseppe in the large property of the Opera Don Guanella in via Aurelia Antica 446 in Rome. The gate with the writing Pio, now no longer existing, was necessary at the time for the safety of the residents because the House included only this building and the adjacent one of San Giuseppe, the rest was used for cultivation and livestock.
