Il ponte dei sospiri: Piracy

The palace in which Doge Candiano's (Murat) proposal to suppress the right of piracy is discussed is the Palazzo Ducale in Venice. Also here is the staircase that hosts parts of the duel between Altieri (San Martín) and Rolando Candiano (Halsey). This is the Giant's Staircase, in the courtyard.

PLOT
Jealous of his success and fame, the enemies of a Venetian captain manage to accuse him of murder. After being sentenced to death, the man flees but returns to the city to find the conspirators and save his honour.
