Domenica d'agosto: The gang

The improvised band ("drums" in the jargon of the Roman underworld) sets off towards Testaccio. Emmer shows us again while they are already in the enclosure of the Mattatoio in Piazza Orazio Giustiniani 4, in Rome. the coup will not succeed, because while Giulio is trying to break into the safe and the others are around him, the unexpected arrival of a security guard will scare them away, upsetting their plans; even, that same evening, all four will be arrested.

PLOT
The Ostia lido, on any Sunday in the month of August. People from different walks of life head to the beach to escape the city heat. Over the course of the day, everyone's destinies are fulfilled: an unemployed man becomes a robber and is arrested, a girl and her suitor, after having deceived each other, discover they are poor and not millionaires as they had tried to pretend, a rich lady discovers that his apartment burned down.
