Horse Fever: Whisky Maschio
Here is a location that shows a Rome that has changed profoundly today. The memorable sketch is that of the "male Whiskey" and the resulting fake fine. The aforementioned whiskey carousel (one of the most quoted scenes of the film) is entirely shot in front of the church of San Girolamo degli Schiavoni via di Ripetta in Rome. It is not difficult to recognize famous architectural elements present in the shots: the first is the square of the Port of Ripetta and the second is the Ara Pacis Augustae (altar dedicated to the emperor Augustus), today completely modified and expanded with a museum structure by the architect Meier. A building, the latter, which is very different today and still not completely "digested" by the Romans due to its visual bulk and "milk white" color scheme out of tune with the rest of the landscape.
