The Fascist: The angry crowd
The town square where Arcovazzi (Tognazzi) with the prisoner to be taken to Rome (Wilson) is Piazza San Pietro in Castel San Pietro Romano (RM)
PLOT:
Arcovazzi, a fascist in the militia, has to arrest a well-known philosopher who has always been an opponent of the regime, Professor Bonafè: the film recounts in a satirical key the relationship between the two characters, the odyssey they undertake through occupied Italy in 1944 to reach Rome and the friendship that is established between them despite their ideological differences. In Rome, Arcovazzi parades with the uniform of a federalist, but the city has been liberated by the Allies and the population, after much discontent, lashes out at him. It is the good professor Bonafè who saves him.
