The Year of the Cannibals: The escape

The streets of a big city are covered with dead bodies, but people seem not to notice and pass by indifferently. Antigone (Britt Ekland) and Tiresia (Pierre Clementi) are running away from the police; left naked in the middle of the street, they hide in a Church which is Santi Nereo e Achilleo, in Viale delle Terme di Caracalla.

Plot:
Loosely based on the ancient Greek classic "Antigone" by Sophocle, the dystopic film competed in the Quinzaines des Realisateurs section of the 23rd Cannes Film Festival, and brings myth to modern times, in a fictitious land where reality is suspended, youth rebellion is brewing, and Antigone faces an uncertain future.
